ENDING "ECONOMIC APARTHEID"

OBJECTIVE
Our objective is to repeal laws and policies that exclude ex-offenders from earning legitimate livelihoods and supporting their families and children. XCE will establish partnerships with organizations, community groups, and the faith based community to pronounce equitable treatment of persons with criminal histories to give them a "real" opportunity to become productive citizens and tax payers.

Criminal Injustice
By focusing on punishment rather than rehabilitation, the legal system reinforces the rigid inequality that pervades nearly every aspect of American society by severely limiting access to basic resources and rights. The instability this causes to many people’s lives forces them to worry about their own survival first and preempts attempts at reintegration into mainstream society. The evidence of this problem is the alarming rate of recidivism for released offenders.The criminal legal system actually perpetuates social inequality and protects this system of inequality from change and upheaval.
